Hollydale Primary School in London wanted some large story chairs and small, stack able stool for their new school garden.

The idea of the story chair was to create a large 'platform' or 'stage' for a teacher when reading to a group of children outside in the garden. The children, fully fixed on the teacher sitting on this grand chair, would sit around on their stools, this creating an outdoor classroom!
The story chairs had to be large enough to sit one adult or two children. They also had to be robust enough so that the children could climb on and make full use of it large arm rests and tall back rest. On top of this the chairs had plant pots integrated into the arm rests and back rest. This created a unique and ever changing furniture 'installation' for the school garden.

The stools would be used by the children as stools or tables. As the school garden was small it was important that the stools could be stacked on top of each other to one side of the garden.
